Ok, I saw this place one night, and thought it was a "foo-foo" joint. Finally, on the recommendation of a person I work with I decided to try it.
I was wrong. VERY WRONG! This place ROCKS! The spicy edamame was off the chain. Even my wife, who really doesn't like soybeans, raves about it. That was just the beginning. The rolls were fantastic, and were very good sized. The sushi/sashimi platter was very fresh, and also worth the price. The drinks had a nice Asian twist (a Manhattan with ginger infused bourbon is brilliant). Dessert was fresh, and a great ending to the meal.
The only problem that I see with this restaurant is that I'm probably going to spend a lot of money here in the future! -

I came here for lunch solo and I found it a bit hoity-toity. For a land locked state (no ocean around) I was a bit suspicious if this could be a good place or not. Now granted I have lived in Hawaii and California so my sushi expectations are a bit different than most of your southern.
These guys have a strange spin on things. Everything either has some foo foo sauce or name to it that doesn't make sense. Such as "Ebi"... really? It's shrimp just say shrimp.
The portions are good and the service is VERY quick for a lunch stop.
Also, notice nothing on the menu says "sushi" it's all called Maki or something strange. Wasn't too impressed w this place but it served its purpose as a quick sushi stop for lunch. Probably won't be back but who knows. -

My updated review is based solely on my experience at their Mother's Day Brunch. I was wavering between 2 and 3 stars, so I guess I would rate my brunch experience as a 2.5 out of 5.
We chose to go to Wild Ginger for Mother's Day because it is a favorite restaurant in the family. Our mother had never been, so we thought this would be a great intro for her. The restaurant does not usually have a buffet and is also not open on Sundays--just for this holiday.
The buffet was set up in the bar area. I had seen the menu listed online and thought that it looked like a good selection. I don't know if they offered everything that they had advertised because it was a pretty skimpy buffet. They had some ham, little mini quiches that were like the frozen ones you get at Costco, eggs, two very soggy and sad looking salads. Their Asian food was a mix of fried things that did not do well sitting on a buffet--soggy fried shrimp, salt and pepper salmon, some sad noodle dish. They had three soups--hot and sour, lobster bisque that was the color of ketchup, and a chicken porridge that looked a lot like oatmeal. They had about 8 different types of sushi set out but nothing was chilled so the sushi was quite warm.
There were a few items that were good--the steak (the online menu says teriyaki chicken but it was a Korean style) was tasty but after sitting on the buffet, it got a little tough, dry and cold. The hot and sour soup was good--the only issue was that there were no soup spoons on the buffet or at the table. The server had to bring out spoons as he was flagged down. The last thing that was popular at our table was some sort of pink strawberry mousse dessert. The menu online mentions a mousse cake but this was just a mousse. So again, discrepancies between what we were expecting and what we got.
I will definitely be back to Wild Ginger--I just would not recommend the Mother's Day Brunch next year. -

This place is overrated on Yelp. Three stars is about right and maybe even a bit generous. There isn't much as far as basic sushi. Their angle is using fifteen ingredients for each "special" sushi roll. So it's like tuna and mango and avocado and .... then add ..... chorizo and cheese and and ham and blueberry jam and mustard and scallions and peanuts and watermelon and skittles. Yeah it's like that ... so there's just a bit too much going on and in the end it's just not good. That story was true for 3 of the 4 items we ordered. We did get gyoza that was very good. So the non-sushi items may be great. But this fusion sushi just didn't work for me.
